DESCRIPTION
The route starts from Chorio, from the Ipapanti church. Turn left just before Agios Efstathios and following a concrete road and the “Skiadi” marking, you will arrive at the position of Lebounia, where there is a bridge in the stream and eucalyptus (approx. 750 meters). From there, you either turn left onto a dirt road or you continue in the stream straight and you encounter a path, without signs, which will then take you back to the dirt road at a point where there’s a big “ampourdektis” (Lake with water made of stones).

You keep going passing the Agioi Anargiroi chapel. Ignore a little dirt road going left to the Prophet Ilias, after about 3,500. count from the beginning, to reach the Sklavos site.

Going up the road to the intersection, turn left.
That’s where you go down a path and then an old Kalderimi.

You continue on to the old Kalderimi that moves between olive groves, orchards and picturesque Xerolithies (paths made of stones). Just below two stone old farmhouses on the left of the old Kalderimi, (800m. about from the beginning of the “Sklavos”), you will meet on your right a crossing for path number 3 (Agioklima).

Continue on the path number 2 and in the next crossing follow the path to the right.

The Kalderimi path is cobbled in most of it and has no marking. Continue to arrive on a plateau, a “patelida” in the local dialect, with threshing floors and scattered abandoned old dwellings, a sample of intense agricultural activity in the recent past of the island’s life. If you don’t follow the uphill path and continue to Makropounta, you draw straight to a threshing floor where there’s a nice view to the beach.

Head north for a while, smoothly going down onto a back-trail, and once you pass a ruins, head southwest first and then west onto a not very obvious path, all the way to the Makropounta Beach that you’re seeing all the time revealing.
